Making The Home: Hanger vs. Drawer
Posted By Miss Jocelyn on November 3, 2009 in Categories: Making The Home, Training Children
The best way I’ve found to keep clothes in an orderly fashion, especially for younger children, is to hang the majority of the clothing up in a closet. Drawers often get shuffled and discombobulated when gone through and I know it can be a habit to just stuff clothes, unfolded, in there when cleaning. A hanger is easily slipped into shirts and pants and there are less wrinkles in clothes that are hung up. It is also alot easier to go through when looking for a certain item. If you’re dealing with younger children you may want to keep a few tops and bottoms in their drawers that you don’t mind if they grab and go outside to play in. Since there will only be a small amount of clothing in their drawers you can also have them fold these themselves as to train and teach on how to properly fold laundry. In doing so they won’t get overwhelmed either by the task. You can use empty drawers for other things, like shoes, belts, hats, etc that will be neatly stored.

So true, so true. I get each of the children their own color of hanger too. It works out well. The drawers always shut and the closet is well organized. Thanks for sharing!
